Eykona was formally incorporated and spun-out from the University of Oxford in February 2007. The core technology was developed by Professor Ron Daniel and Dr James Paterson, both of the Oxford University Engineering Department during the period 2001 - 2007, approximately 8 man years of development.  Eykona now has a broad base of institutional and private investors and has received support from SBRI/NHS East of England and the South East Economic Development Agency (SEEDA).
