Eykona was formally incorporated and spun-out from the University of Oxford in February 2007. The core technology was developed by Professor Ron Daniel and Dr. James Paterson, both of the Oxford University Engineering Department during the period 2001 - 2007, approximately 8 man years of development. Patenting and early commercial work was led by Isis Innovation, with marketing and commercial development driven by H2O Venture Partners following incorporation. Having closed two significant six figure investments in 2009, Eykona is presently engaged in a period of accelerated technical and commercial development prior to completion of a series A round in 2010.
