Eykona was formally incorporated and spun-out from the University of Oxford in February 2007. The core technology was developed by Professor Ron Daniel and Dr. James Paterson, both of the Oxford University Engineering Department during the period 2001 - 2007, approximately 8 man years of development. Patenting and early commercial work was led by Isis Innovation, with marketing and commercial development driven by H2O Venture Partners following incorporation. Eykona is in the final stages of closing a significant six figure cornerstone investment, which will be used to accelerate technical and commercial development prior to completion of a full round in 2008.
